Our posting standards
- Speak with adab. Be courteous, patient, and charitable. Critique ideas and evidence rather than people. No insults, harassment, hate speech, or personal attacks.
- Separate knowledge from opinion. Say whether something is a personal experience, a provider statement, a scholarly view, or your own interpretation.
- Respect recognised scholarly differences. Do not present a personal view as a fatwa or claim that every Muslim must follow one interpretation. Encourage members to consult a qualified scholar for personal religious guidance.
- Do not give personal financial, legal, or religious advice. Share general information and questions. Protect your own privacy and never publish another person’s private details.
- Use evidence. When making a specific claim about a provider, product, Shariah governance, investment approach, or regulation, include a public source and the date you checked it.
- No promotion or undisclosed conflicts. Disclose commercial relationships. Do not spam referral links, solicit clients, or market a product as “100% halal” without clear supporting documentation.
- Keep discussions on topic. Choose the right category, search before starting a duplicate topic, and use a descriptive title. Do not derail a thread.
- Protect people and the community. No doxxing, fraud, impersonation, plagiarism, illegal content, or material that is unsafe for a family audience.
- Ask when unsure. If a question touches on fiqh, ask for sources and acknowledge uncertainty. Moderators may edit, close, or remove content that does not meet these standards.
A simple posting checklist
Before pressing Post, check:
- Is this respectful and beneficial?
- Have I distinguished fact, experience, and opinion?
- Have I included a source for important claims?
- Am I asking for general information rather than a personal ruling?
- Have I removed private or identifying information?
